This is a smooth, contoured set of grips for the Llama IIIa .380
ACP pistol, a blow-back operated 7/8-scale 1911 style
pistol in .380 ACP that has controls and appearance much
like a full sized locked-action 1911 Colt. They have an
average thickness of 0.35 inches versus the factory 0.20,
about 1/3 more hand-filling grip, which helps tighten up
the groups for most shooters, except those with small
hands.
The dimensions are:
Right Grip
- Overall height = 3.5 inches
- Width at top = 1.85 inches
- Width at bottom (flat area)= 1.2 inches
- Width at bottom (max width)= 1.3 inches
- Screw hole spacing = 2.5 inches
- Width across center = 1.175 inches
- Bottom screw hole center from base = 0.5 inches
- Average thickness = 0.35 inches
Left Grip
- Overall height = 3.5 inches
- Width of front notch at top = 0.6 inches
- Width of top flat area = 0.4 inches
- Width of swell at base = 1.4 inches
- Screw hole spacing, location = same as right grip
- Average width = 1.2 inches
These grips come with spacers to fit into the frame
cut-out for either side. Sand to make them a nice snug
fit into their respective sides (you can see which one
is closest to the proper shape for each side) and when
they will fit properly into the cut-outs, epoxy glue
them to the grip backs, per instructions provided with
the grips. These little spacers are not required to use
the grips, but they help stabilize and secure the grips
and take some of the recoil force off the screws.
There are two screws per grip panel, which thread directly
into the gun frame without bushings. The length of your
factory screw is set for the thickness of the factory grip
of course, so don't make your grips too thin or the
screws will bind on the magazine.
