This is an oversized extended base grip for Ruger single actions such as the Blackhawk and Vaquero. Be sure to check dimensions with your gun, and do not simply go by the name. There are many variations with the same general model name. Or better yet, send a grip tracing or a cut-out that fits your gun frame. Mark the screw hole location on it. Include your order number, and mail it in a standard 1st class envelope (no need for costly special packaging). Check the box which says you are sending a tracing so I know to look for it in the mail. If you check the box saying you will not be sending a tracing, I will not be looking for it and will assume you want the grip regardless of dimensions. If you check the box saying you already sent a tracing and you did not, it causes a lot of wasted time looking for something that doesn't exist. Just check the box that corresponds to what really happened and it will be fine.
This is a smooth finished grip with a fairly thick (0.55 inch) width at the base area, and about a half inch longer than the grip frame with a filler block or spacer which extends the length. Here are the dimensions to compare with your gun's frame:
- Front edge (A) = 0.9 inches
- Overall height (B) = 3.4 inches
- Base width (C) = 2.45 inches
- Center of front edge to rear edge (D) = 1.60 inches
- Flat at the top edge (E) = 1.1 inches
- Width of base above the spacer = 2.12 inches (top edge of spacer)
- Height of spacer at rear = 0.55 inches
- Height of spacer at front = 0.50 inches
- Thickness of spacer = 0.5 inches
- Thickness at the top = 0.3 inches
- Distance across neck at narrowest spot (angled) = 1.3 inches
Spacer dimensions:
- Thickness = 0.5 inches
- Length of top edge = 2.12 inches
- Length of bottom edge = 2.5 inches
- Height at rear edge = 0.55 inches (at 90 degrees to base)
- Height of front edge 0.50 inches (at 90 degrees to base)
- Length of rear edge on the angle = .6 inches
- Length of front edge on the angle = .5 inches
