The Raven 25 grips are secured with their own individual
screws, which do not come with the grips. A small parallelogram
about 1/32 thick and 3/4 x 3/4 across the sides, with the
bottom corners about 0.2 inches offset from the top, toward the
rear, fits into a cut out in the grip frame and prevents
the grip from turning about the screw.
As shipped the grip kit has a flat back and the two spacer
blocks are not fastened to the grip backs. This lets you
adjust the thickness of the grips first, locate the grips on
your Raven pistol with the screw, and align them before
using a thin film of 5-minute epoxy to secure the blocks.
Once the epoxy has cured, you can then remove the grips and
lightly sand the thickness of the blocks so that they do
not drag on the magazine. It is easier to do after the
blocks have cured and are part of the grips.
At the top of the left hand grip, you will need to relieve
a shallow area about 1/16 deep to clear the operating
controls. This is most easily done with a Dremel tool and
a small grinding bit or mini-end mill, although with care
a sanding drum can be used. It is usually easier to secure
the grip to a block of wood with a small screw through the mounting
hole (do not over tighten) and clamp the block of wood to
a work bench top or vise.
