The Llama IX-A 45 grips are unique to this pistol. This set
has a logo area which is ideal for mounting a medallion
such as the Texas Star or Gold Cross. You will probably need
to spend a little time with a moto tool making sure the
relief cuts are deep enough for your gun, but otherwise it
should be ready to mount with very little sanding on the
back (for desired thickness).
IMPORTANT: Please measure the hole spacing on YOUR gun,
and don't just assume these grips have the same! Send me
the actual hole spacing by checking the correct box or
entering the right spacing, so I can see if these grips
will work or not. If you want the grips to fit your gun,
I need this information.
Apparently, Llama IX-A guns in 9mm and 45 caliber can have
different hole spacing on the grips, and sometimes the model
may have different hole spacing even for the same caliber.
Therefore, it is very important that you measure the hole
spacing and let me know what it is for your gun.
The right and left sides are different. Left side has hole spacing
of 3-5/16 inches and a width of about 1.28 inches near the top.
The bottom hole is just 0.4 inches from the bottom edge. The top hole
is .465 from the top edge. The height to the top screw hole center
from the base is 4-1/8 inches.
The mounting holes are about 0.156 inches diameter with a
head recess of .3125 depth and .281 diameter. There is no
grip frame stud, as with a 1911 pistol The screws go into
the frame directly.
The right grip has a flat back and is 1.35 inches across the
flat top edge, 1.31 inches straight across the top screw
hole, and the top hole is .471 (center) from the top edge.
There is a notch in the front edge centered 1.2 inches from the
top corner. The hole spacing is 3-5/16 inches center to center.
The bottom hole center is 0.36 inches from the bottom edge.
the width at the bottom edge is 1.72 inches, and above the
flare the width is 1.5 inches. Grip thickness can be sanded
to desired size, but is normally about 0.154 at the back
and 0.131 at the front edge, with 0.264 in the center.
