This is a thick set of contoured grips for the Hawes Texas
Derringer. The grips are secured in the factory system by
a two screws that fit into a threaded, notched tube, which
fits around the hammer spring. But by using a 4-40 screw,
the standard nut and ferrule mounting with single screw
works as it can bypass the spring.
The two grip panels are held from rotating by means of two
spacers, which you would sand lightly to fit into the frame
cut-out area, and then epoxy glue to the back of the
panels. An hole in the spacers allows for screw clearance.
This is a somewhat oddly shaped grip for a gun no longer
manufactured, but if you have one, just remove the grips
and compare the backside and the frame with the illustration
and you'll be able to see if these will work or not. They
are a little more angled and unusual in shape from the
standard Colt/Cobra/Davis style derringer, which is more
like a smooth fat "comma" shape.
