This is a smooth round top grip for the 1910 or 1955 Model Browning .32 or .380 pistol, in a large or slightly over-size version that covers just a little more of the frame than the similar 142-E model. It is especially good for translucent pearl effects. The grip can be ordered without mounting holes, so you could use it on Spanish Eibar type clones and similar looking pistols which might have different mounting style or hole location from the Browning. Normally it would be sent with the default 2-56 mounting kit installed, unless you check the box to NOT install the kit. In that case, no holes would be made for mounting but the screw kit would be sent in a small bag along with the grip.
Below are the dimensions for the grip, so you can compare to your gun and see if it would fit. You can always sand a grip smaller, but never larger! Of course, it is always highly recommended to make a tracing or pattern using a 3 x 5 index card or similar thin card stock, cut it to fit your gun, poke a little hole or at least mark the location of the screw for your particular version of the gun, and mail that to me with the order number written on it. Check the box that says you are sending a tracing, so I will know to wait for it so I can check the size, shape, and screw hole location.
- Length of the front edge (flat part only) = 2.75 inches.
- Length of the rear edge (flat part only) = 2.80 inches.
- Height from top to bottom, measured at the center line = 3.2 inches.
- Width across the base (flat part only) = 1.35 inches.
- Width across the widest portion of the base = 1.5 inches.
- Width across the center (measured parallel to the base) = 1.4 inches.
- Width across the top (just before start of the round portion) = 1.38 inches.
- Thickness at the top center = 0.25 inches
- Thickness at the bottom center = 0.40 inches
- Height of the center of the rounded top, measured from a line across the 1.38-in wide top = 0.30 inches.
Please note that this grip kit comes with two spacers, which you fit into the frame opening and then epoxy glue to the back of each grip (with the grip screw locating the grip panel in the right position). Do one side at a time and let the epoxy set. The spacers fit into the frame opening, usually with a light sanding in tight spots, and keep the grip panel from turning. The spacers have holes where you can drill a matching shallow blind hole into the grip back and push in a small pin or screw with a dab of epoxy, if you wish. This helps secure the spacer. But generally, a good hardware store brand of two part fast-set epoxy will be sufficient to hold the spacer securely.
