Great Western revolvers were made in the USA until Colt came back with the 2nd Generation SAA and lower cost imported replicas, plus some financial mismanagement, drove them out of business. The guns were popular in Hollywood, were well made and somewhat expensive, which was fine as long as Colt wasn't making the 1st Generation Single Action Army and lower copy clones were not available. Some of the grips listed here also fit other models, such as Hawes (an import made by J.P. Sauer & Sohn in Germany) or even some actual Colt or Colt replicas by Pietta, Uberti, Beretta, etc. Compare measurements rather than just the name, and you may find that one of these grips fits your gun even if it is a different brand!
