Are you sending a tracing?:
YES! I want to assure proper size/shape. Tombstone is responsible for fit to tracing. Tracing will show hole pattern. **************************************
NO. I will be responsible if I choose the wrong size grip. I will measure my gun and compare to the listed specs. If I order a grip that is the wrong size or shape, I agree that it is NOT returnable. *****************************************************
I already mailed a tracing BEFORE I placed this order.

The Smith and Wesson 38 Special Hand Ejector was also known as the Military and Police or M&P model, and became the Model 10 and during the 1940's, was called the Victory model in a rougher war-time finish with plain wood grips. These grips fit all the earlier versions of what was to be known as the K-frame revolver with square butt.

Be sure to measure the over-all height of your existing grip and compare to the specifications. There is a later, longer frame that your gun may have, and if so, you would want one of the longer K-frame grips listed here, rather than this shorter grip.

The plain grips look good in aged ivory with an inset medallion of up to 5/8 inch diameter. The smaller medallions such as the 1/2 inch gold cross can be mounted in the circle area next to the hammer, replacing the factory logo (which was not present in Victory models anyway).

Hand ejector grips with gold gross medallions This grip will require minor sanding around the edges for the best fit, and location of the grip pin hole. Tap out the locator pin from the frame, hold one grip panel up to the frame and align it carefully, then mark through the pin hole to spot the position for drilling the locator hole. Do this with both grips. Measure the pin and choose a drill just slightly undersize. Drill the locating hole carefully and your grips will snap onto the frame precisely. The slightly undersized hole can be gently enlarged by turning the drill bit by hand with a slight side pressure, if necessary.

Here are the grip dimensions:
  • Height of round top above ears = .375 inch
  • Base to screw hole center = 1.158 inch
  • Base to top, max. height = 2.875 inch
  • Width across the base = 1.80 inch
  • Width across top (ear to ear) = 1.011 inch
  • Width across grip at screw hole = 1.49 inch
  • Base to front ear (corner) = 2.26 inch
  • Base to rear ear (corner) = 2.82 inch
