This is a set of grip inserts for the SP101 revolver and
other models that use the smaller size inserts. Check the
dimensions before you order, and compare them to the size
of your own gun's panel inserts. If yours are considerably
larger, guess what? --these won't fit it!
These grip inserts are primarily for modern versions of the
SP101 which do not require the round dowel pin hole in the
grip back, but I put the hole there anyway since it doesn't
hurt anything, and you can then use the same panel on the
earlier version guns.
The main different between this grip version and the other
smooth ones I offer is the thickness, and the smooth
blended edges, which give you just a little bit more of
a hold without poking your hand on a sharp panel edge. If
you have any problem getting a consistent hold, maybe these
somewhat more tactile panels will help.
Usually these just drop in without any fitting, but it is
possible you may need to do a little light sanding depending
on the tolerances of your grip. These fit into the cut-out
in the black rubber grip that comes on the gun. Obviously
they are not a complete grip, but require the rubber frame
in order to mount on the gun. They look especially nice
with pearl, amber or walnut burl, and other translucent
effects due to their greater thickness.
