This is a 3/8-in long 3-48 threaded fillister head screw. It is used in some versions of the H&R 922 and similar models which have two separate screws into a U-shaped bracket, surrounding the hammer spring. Some verions use 6-32 screws 1/2 inch long with oval heads. But others use the 3-48 screws. To increase the strength of the mount, I install two brass ferrules instead of using the factory direct-contact screw mount.

Certain other guns may also use 3-48 screws, as well as some gun sights and other parts.
