This is a package of 50 sets of the No.2 grip screw
mounting kits, consisting of 50 each of 2-56 Fillister
head screws, press-fit brass nuts, and press-fit brass
ferrules.
The brass fittings press fit into .25 inch diameter
holes. The 2-56 screws are ideal for most pocket autos
such as the Browning 1910 and the Colt 25 or Colt 1903
pocket pistol. They also work well with small pocket
revolvers from the 1890's to the early 1940's.
Instructions for adjusting the screw length and making
the mounting holes are sent with the order. Since the most popular length is
1.25 inches in this size screw kit, I have those made up and ready to ship almost always.
They usually take slightly less time to reach you for that reason.
The ferrules and press fit nuts fit into .250-inch diameter holes, and you can use a 3/32 inch drill
for the clearance hole for the screw. A hole that is larger than minimum size for the screw lets you get
things aligned better. The grips normally rely on a pin, spacer or other alignment to the gun frame and not the screw itself (there are some exeptions but those generally are two-screw
mounts that thread into holes in the gun frame, and don't use these kits!
