These are slightly smaller and thinner grips for the EMF Virginian Dragoon. Several clients have sent tracings of their original grips for matching, and it seems that there are at least a couple of different frame sizes used at different times for this model. Be SURE to compare the measurements with your gun, and make sure this is the version that fits BEFORE you order it. Or send a tracing. Note that the Virginian Dragoon uses the two-piece, screw-mount grips. But the 71d is made so that it can be sent as a 1-piece kit (two panels and a spacer, which you assemble to make a 1-piece grip ONLY for guns that have a removable back strap like original Colt revolvers -- otherwise, there would be no way to get them on the gun!) If you would like to get this kit in a 1-piece style, the option is available: check the 1-piece option above. You can always add a screw kit if you want to convert it to a 2-piece screw-mount set instead. That is the default option, except I will install the screw kit for you in that case. Why would you want the 1-piece kit option? Well, you might find this size fits a Colt clone or some unusual gun with removable back strap. There's no law forcing you to use the grip on an EMF Virginian, if you have a different gun it may fit. Here are the grip dimensions: Front edge height (A) = 1.03 inches Overall height (B) = 3.55 inches Base width (C) = 2.35 inches Front center to rear edge (D) = 1.86 inches Top edge length (E) = 1.22 inches Width across screw hole center (G or H+I) = 1.68 inches Front edge to screw hole center (I) = 0.7 inches Height of screw hole center from base (F) = 1.75 inches Average thickness at base = 0.50/0.57 (left/right) This smooth grip looks good in pearl or translucent effects such as the amber or walnut burl, as well as solid colors. Don't select both a solid color and a pearl effect since that would be impossible to make. Also, if you set the solid color to "use pearl effects, below" and then leave pearl effects at "none", the only logical thing I can do is make the grips in natural ivory. It is the "default" or base-price option. Solid and pearl effects take more material and processing time, and are slightly more, as shown above.
