These grips are for the Star Bonifacio Escheveria Model CU or
25 ACP 8-round pistol, successor to the Model CO "Starlet".
They are secured by two short screws per grip panel, threaded
into the grip frame. Some light relief is required to clear
operating control, on back of grips.
If you order from this listing, you will receive original
factory style checkering and logo molded into the grip.
If you ask for a smooth or staghorn version in the note section, I'll
have to email back and say this:
The only grips I have are the ones you see
listed, so you'd need to order from the page showing and
describing the kind of grip pattern that you want. If it
isn't listed, I don't have it yet. As per the "terms of
sale" page, the description and picture shown on any
given listing page will be the same pattern, shape and size as what you get.
In 1956, production of the Model CO pistols was dropped in
favor of an upgraded C series called the Model CU. This
pistol remained in production until 1973.
The primary changes were to bring this weapon up to date
with a conventional thumb safety. The magazine release
was enlarged, the grip frame was slightly lengthened and
flared at the bottom, and numerous small changes were
made.
Grips were apparently always black or brown checkered
plastic with the Star logo. The pistol was available
with black or chromed slides, and anodized frames in
black, "RAF Blue," "Forest Green," "Antique Gold" and
"Steel Gray."
