Are you sending a tracing?:
YES! I want to assure proper size/shape. Tombstone is responsible for fit to tracing. Tracing will show hole pattern. **************************************
NO. I will be responsible if I choose the wrong size grip. I will measure my gun and compare to the listed specs. If I order a grip that is the wrong size or shape, I agree that it is NOT returnable. *****************************************************
I already mailed a tracing BEFORE I placed this order.

This grip was copied from a 1938 Tula Arsenal Nagant, with sharp checkering, diamond center, and clear, crisp lines. It uses a defined, pointed checkering style rather than the crude cross-hatched lines found some production models.

It is an exact size copy, not over-sized as with the smooth version. The kit consists of a center spacer (which is checkered on the visible front and rear surfaces), and two rounded-top grip panels, each of which has a press-fit brass nut and a truss-head 4-40 slotted screw. The screws are of a length that will secure the panels to the frame with no screw modification (most screw kits need to be cut to length). The spacer fastens to the removable steel plate with the original Russian screw.

These grips should fit the 1938 and similar production models only slight fitting work (possibly making two shallow depressions to clear projections, on the back of the grips). The mainspring is removed from the gun in order to get at the screw which holds the right grip panel. Both screw heads are on the inside, on the Nagant, so that a removable side plate is first released by removing a screw on the right side of the frame, giving access to both screws.

The mainspring is not difficult to remove once a person has gone through the exercise and discovered how much to squeeze it, how to hook the end into the trigger and the projection into the frame. I take mine out with no tools, other than loosening the screw which holds the front of the trigger guard and then pivoting the trigger guard down. I don't remove the hammer or trigger to replace or remove the spring, although you can do that easily, and I never use any pliers or other tools on the spring (to avoid scratching it, which might cause it to fail from repeated stress on the scratch). I do remove the cylinder, just because it frees the pawls and other parts of the mechanism for easier manipulation.

Below you see the grip in "amber burl" effect. Also shown is a standard ivory grip with the back showing (flat, with truss-head screw inserted).

Dave Corbin Please Note: I make all the grips by hand and receive so many orders that custom made grip delivery takes an average 45-60 days.
Stock items (medallions, screws, specials) usually ship within 10 days.
I can't promise a specific ship date, as it will vary with circumstances.
If you can't wait, please don't order! I'm working as fast as possible.

Be SURE to read the TERMS of SALE page, so you KNOW what you are getting.

Always compare listed measurements OR send a tracing of original grip or gun frame.
Do NOT order just by description, since the same model and make can vary in actual size and shape of grip frame! Do NOT send your original grips or gun!
