These grips are for the H&R (S&W "L" frame) model
732 in 32 caliber. You can order them in any color
and with a medallion replacing the H&R logo. There are
at least a couple of different frame lengths for this
same model, so be sure to send a pencil tracing of your
existing grips if you have any. I can then use one of
two sizes, matching the length of your drawing.
If you don't have grips to trace, it would be helpful
if you measured from the base to the highest point at
the top, 90-degrees the base.
Note: There are two grip shapes for this model!
One is the square butt frame. The gun looks like this:
The other is the round butt frame. The gun looks like this:
The version with the ROUND BUTT shown above uses grip No. 28A, which
you can select from the "related products" below. It does
NOT work with this square-butt grip!
Please make SURE you have the proper frame before you order!
This grip fits SOME of the square butt models, if they have the same
mounting system and size of frame as the grip.
Other H&R guns which these grips (maybe) fit include:
H&R 929 22 cal 4 inch Barrel (manufactured in 1960's).
H&R (S&W "L" frame) model 732 in 32 caliber. Please note
that these grips are secured by a 4-40 screw, with the
nut and ferrule installed in the grips. There are some
versions of the same gun where the grips are secured by
means of two separate short screws, and the frame itself
is threaded to accept them. If you have that kind of grip frame,
you need to tell me and make a pencil tracing that shows
where the holes go. I can countersink two screw holes and provide
two oval headed 6-32 screws.
If you don't indicate otherwise,
I will install the standard No.4 kit. Harrington & Richardson used about as many
grip attachment schemes as they could think of for the
same models, so be SURE you understand what you are
ordering so you are not getting the wrong kind. If in
doubt send a picture clearly indicating how the grips
are attached (if with a single screw through both sides,
no problem -- that's standard for me.). But if your gun uses a U-bracket
and a pair of oval head screws instead, be sure to let me know if they are the
6-32 oval head screws, or the 3-48 size (H&R used both, and the holes in the
grips are much different size).
Please Note:
This grip has a lot of curvature in the surface near the
top, where a medallion would be mounted. While it is possible
to mount a medallion over the H&R Logo area, it doesn't
always look as good as it would on a more nearly flat
grip. The edges have to either be deeply sunk below the surface
in one plane or they need to project above it in another
plane... there isn't any way to get a medallion to meet
the surface at the edges all the way around. I generally
don't recommend using a medallion on this grip, for that
reason. But so long as you realize the issue with mounting
a medallion where the surface is extremely curved, I can do it.
